Hand painted flower hamsa designed by Yair Emanuel. The hand symbolizes protection, happiness, health, luck and good fortune.
Artist Yair Emanuel is a graduate of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Born on Kibbutz Sha’alvim, he grew up in an orthodox home in Jerusalem. He later adopted a more pluralistic approach to Judaism. This background influenced Emanuel’s style of Judaic art, which is based upon a fusion of traditional motifs, ancient Jewish manuscripts, and modern oriental work. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of old and new characterize Emanuel’s work.
Among his staff in his studio are immigrants and mentally disabled employees. A portion of the studio’s work is donated to charity.
