Shabbat Services At CBS-CS

Friday night: 6:15 p.m. Saturday morning: 9:30 a.m.

Personal listening devices, transliteration of Shabbat morning services and large print siddurim are available. The synagogue is completely handicap accessible.

Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat services are held every week at CBS-CS and are designed to enhance the participation of those in attendance. Services are led by members of the congregation, including teens, with the rabbi presenting a d'var Torah or a text study.

Friday evening services begin at 6:15 p.m. following an Asefat (gathering) Shabbat with light snacks at 6:00 p.m. During July and August, services are held in our courtyard, weather permitting. Babysitting is available most Friday evenings. There are periodic Shirat Shabbat services, which include upbeat melodies and much ruach. Musical instruments may be used during kabbalat Shabbat on these dates.

Saturday morning services begin at 9:30 a.m. Babysitting is available on most Shabbat mornings. Children below bar or bat mitzvah age are encouraged to participate in parts of the service. Every week the experience of Shabbat is enhanced with a Kiddush following services. The monthly Shabbat Spot extends the communal Shabbat experience with a light lunch and the opportunity to schmooze and play board games.
